Chère madame Burmeister,
De retour en France, nous voudrions vous remercier pour la chaleur de votre accueil, votre enthousiasme et tout ce que vous faites pour le souvenir de ce qui s’est passé chez vous. Nous avons admiré le travail de documentation réalisé à la Gedenkstätte et de mise en valeur du site. Il est important pour nous de savoir que, même si nous sommes éloignés, nous pouvons compter sur vous pour maintenir vivant le souvenir des déportés de nos familles, morts chez vous. Notre mémoire est entre de bonnes mains.
Dans l’attente d’une prochaine rencontre, nous vous assurons de toute notre amitié.

Ich habe mich gefreut, an der sehr gelungenen Veranstaltung am 27.1. teilnehmen zu können. Wie Sie auch an dem Abend selbst ausführten, sind Ressentiments gegen Opfergruppen der NS-Verfolgung weiter verbreitet als häufig gedacht, in diesem Fall gegen die Opfer mit dem lila Winkel.

Meine Erfahrung ist, dass Veranstaltungen wie diese, insbesondere aber auch Zeitzeugengespräche ein Großteil dazu beitragen können, Widerstände zu überwinden.

international group Baltic Sea & Cities- Commission on Youth Issues

We all remember our visit with our international group from the whole Baltic Sea region in Ladelund in spring 2007 as very impressive! We once more would like to thank you for your impressive guidance through the exhibition and for such a warm and welcoming meeting and showing us around on the place of the former “KZ”.
In autumn 2008 we have been visiting Neuengamme memorial site, but have decided that we definitely would prefer coming again to Ladelund instead of Neuengamme. Although Neuengamme is impressive because of its enormous size, we felt not that welcome and not taken that good care of and well guided like we felt when visiting Ladelund and meeting you. We see the work you’re doing there as a great example of historical youth training – even for and with international groups – and we would like to wish you all the best for a good continuing your work.

Please find attached a short report on our Tolerance Trip in 2007 including a summary of our visit in Ladelund – and please find further a programme for the Tolerance Trip in April 2009 when we will meet you again in Ladelund!
